The Atelier
Awake was created in January 2019 in Paris by Lilian Thibault, with a clear constraint: every component must come from sustainable, recycled, or upcycled sources. From recycled steel cases to fishing-net textile straps, the brand proves that mechanical Swiss-made watches can have a coherent environmental story without compromising quality. In 2019, the brand designed the official watch gifted to world leaders at the G7 summit in Biarritz, made from recycled fishing nets pulled from the oceans.

Pure silver leaf tinted with copper pigments is suspended as the final layer of the dial under translucent Sơn Mài lacquer — a technical first that transforms each of the 100 dials into a unique experiment in light refraction. Crafted in Hanoi over fifteen hours of focused labor. La Joux-Perret G101 automatic, 68h power reserve, recycled 316L stainless steel case.
A 39mm Swiss Made dress watch from Awake's Sơn Mài Fragments collection — a mosaic of mother-of-pearl fragments embedded in Vietnamese lacquer using the ancestral Japanese Raden technique. Each dial requires nearly fifteen hours of focused work in Awake's Hanoi atelier. La Joux-Perret G101 automatic movement, 68-hour power reserve, recycled 316L stainless steel case.
